DIETETICS INSTRUCTOR

(PART-TIME)

 The College is seeking adjunct instructors to teach Nutrition I (3 credits) at the Downtown Campus, Parham Road Campus or via distance learning for the Fall Semester, beginning August 2008.

QUALIFICATIONS  REQUIRED:         

Bachelors degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a closely related field.  Current registration with American Dietetic Association as an R.D.

QUALIFICATIONS  PREFERRED: 

Experience with Office 2007 and Blackboard. Teaching experience, preferably at the postsecondary level. Compensation commensurate with the education and experience of the applicant.

Sheltering Arms Physical Rehabilitation Hospitals

Sheltering Arms, a premier provider of physical rehabilitation services, is currently seeking a Registered Dietician to join our team.

Our Registered Dieticians assess the nutritional status of patients as determined by nutritional screening tool and physician order.  Develop and implement care plans based on patient needs, current knowledge and clinical experience.  Provide modified diet and normal nutrition education for patients as prescribed.  Collaborate with other health professionals to integrate, interpret and communicate nutrition care principles.  Act as a liaison between food service provider and organization.  Follow nutritional standards of practice and complies with regulatory requirements.

This is a part time position requiring 25 hours per week, and covers both inpatient hospitals.

Candidates must be registered with the Commission of Dietetic Registration.  They must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a major in dietetics or acceptable prerequisite.  At least 3 years of previous experience is required.  1 year of specialty experience in a rehabilitation setting is preferred.
